Students studying construction and civil engineering at FSU visited the workshop ÞG verk in Selfoss by Álalækur 13-17 on the 26th of April. The purpose of the visit was to increase their interest in vocational training and the practicality of obtaining vocational training.
Construction ÞG Verk is progressing well in Selfoss and many projects are under construction.
The students were given a tour of the work area and an introduction to the work activities that were going on in each place, from upholstery, exterior cladding and interior finishing.
Special emphasis was placed on the innovations that ÞG Verk embarked on for the Selfoss project. In Álalæknar, bathrooms are prefabricated and lifted into the buildings during the construction period, as well as electric charging stations will be provided in common areas on a site with load control.
After the guidance, students were introduced to how ÞG Verk contributes to increased safety in their workshops.
